This dynamic segment, long a favorite among dedicated gastronomes, is now stepping firmly into the limelight, showcasing an array of mouth-watering dishes that are as delightful to the eye as they are to the palate.

A Lekker Spread of Eats on the Move

Whether you’re craving refined gourmet bites, delectable street food, or inventive culinary creations, the city’s food truck scene is poised to satisfy any culinary desire. The real adventure lies in tracking down these mobile eateries, which can be found in various locations across the city.

A Permanent Spot for Food Truck Enthusiasts

Food truck aficionados can breathe a sigh of relief, as several trucks have now established a semi-permanent base in the heart of Goodwood. This gathering of mobile kitchens makes it easier for patrons to indulge in their favorite street food delicacies.

Food Truck Valley: A Culinary Oasis

Nestled opposite McDonald’s at N1 City in Goodwood, Food Truck Valley has become a weekend haven for food lovers. This halaal-certified hub, operational every Friday to Sunday, is a bustling mix of regular and guest food trucks, each offering a unique flavor profile.

“Feast your eyes on the sample dishes and food pictures plastered on the food trucks. Intoxicate your noise with the delicious smells wafting in the air with each truck’s signature scents intertwining around you and wrack your brain as you try to decide which dish to try first.”

The Mastermind Behind the Valley

Qayum Camroodien, formerly associated with Gourmet Boerie, is the visionary behind Food Truck Valley. Initially offering upgraded Boeries from his home, Camroodien has now shifted his focus to this exciting food truck project.
A Night at Food Truck Valley

Our visit on a chilly Friday night in July revealed a lively and bustling atmosphere, despite the winter cold. With around 20 vendors offering an eclectic mix of cuisines, from Asian delicacies to gourmet milkshakes and waffles, the choices were as varied as they were tempting. While some stalls had long queues and sold out by 9 pm, the area remained lively late into the night, accommodating both takeaway orders and sit-down meals.

Culinary Highlights of the Evening

The culinary journey included a last-minute Bao order from Say Catering, featuring beef, chicken, and prawn options, a must-try for its freshness. Rack n Grill served up delectable burgers, while Jango offered savory onion rings. The evening was rounded off with indulgent, wallet-denting shakes from Coffia.

N1 Value Centre’s Foodie Transformation

The N1 Value Centre is not just about food trucks. It’s undergoing a foodie transformation with the addition of eateries like Nuri Sushi, Dairy Den, and Bootlegger (non-halaal), making it an even more appealing destination in the north.
