Andrew Tate, the polarizing internet personality, and his brother Tristan were taken into custody by US Marshals in Miami on Saturday. The dramatic arrest unfolded as British prosecutors intensify efforts to extradite the pair to face dozens of criminal charges.
The operation, which saw both men placed in handcuffs and escorted into waiting vehicles, was captured on video by TMZ and circulated widely online. Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the arrest and announced it would pursue extradition proceedings immediately.
Handcuffs And Silence In Miami
Video footage posted on X showed law enforcement officers moving decisively to detain the brothers outside a Miami location.
As officers secured the pair, an onlooker shouted a question at Tristan Tate, asking whether he had anything to say. He offered no response, maintaining a stoic silence as cameras rolled.
The US Marshals Service, speaking to AFP, confirmed the arrest of the 39-year-old Andrew and his younger brother. Officials noted that the warrant remained sealed, which prevented them from disclosing the specific charges that triggered the operation.
Fresh Prosecutions Emerge Across The Atlantic
British authorities revealed on Sunday that the Tate brothers now face a staggering total of 59 separate charges, with 42 directed at Andrew and 17 at Tristan.
Malcolm McHaffie, who leads the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime Division, issued a forceful statement outlining the scope of the new prosecutions.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child,”
McHaffie also confirmed that the extradition request had been formally transmitted to American authorities.
“The CPS has requested the extradition of the Tates from the US,”
He added that the expanded case drew upon fresh evidence supplied by Bedfordshire Police, which has raised the tally of alleged victims to seven individuals.
The latest charges compound an already complex legal landscape for the brothers. Earlier this year, Hertfordshire Police reopened an investigation into rape and sexual assault allegations spanning 2014 and 2015, which multiple women had lodged against Andrew Tate.
Bedfordshire Police, whose jurisdiction covers the brothers’ hometown of Luton, continues to probe separate allegations of rape and human trafficking brought by additional complainants.
Beyond the sexual violence and trafficking accusations, both men also stand accused of tax evasion and money laundering in the United Kingdom.

Joseph McBride, the attorney representing the Tate brothers, issued a defiant press release within hours of the arrest.
He categorically rejected every accusation levelled against his clients.
“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free,”
McBride framed the arrest as a politically motivated overreach rather than a legitimate law enforcement action.
The brothers hold dual British and American citizenship, a status that has complicated jurisdictional questions throughout their legal troubles. They have also cultivated high-profile political connections in the United States, emerging as vocal supporters of President Donald Trump.
In March 2025, Florida authorities launched a separate criminal investigation targeting the Tates, though the current status of that probe remains unclear.

In Romania, where they have maintained their primary residence in recent years, prosecutors have levelled grave accusations including trafficking minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, and money laundering.
