Parklands College is mourning the loss of its head boy, Connor Niske, following an incident that led to his death on 7 June 2026. The Western Cape SAPS has launched an inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 17-year-old, who was found with a fatal gunshot wound.

Table View police confirmed that they were alerted to the incident at approximately 00:51 on 7 June at a medical facility. SAPS spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana confirmed that the teenager was declared dead upon his arrival at the hospital after sustaining a bullet wound to the head.

While the investigation remains ongoing, the existence of a formal inquest indicates that authorities are working to determine the precise circumstances of the fatality, including how the injury was sustained.
