National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams began a 20-day suspension from Parliament on 3 August 2026, following a finding by the Joint Committee on Ethics and Members’ Interests. The disciplinary action, which will see his salary and allowances docked, is scheduled to conclude on 28 August 2026.
Investigation Into Ethical Breach
The suspension follows a formal complaint lodged by DA Chief Whip George Michalakis regarding a Facebook post made by Adams on 10 June 2025. Parliament found that Adams breached the Code of Ethical Conduct by publishing a screenshot of an internal email that included the personal contact details of a Democratic Alliance staff member.

Committee Proceedings And Future Appearances
The National Assembly approved the recommendation for the suspension on 11 June 2026, with Speaker Thoko Didiza notifying Adams of the timeline shortly thereafter. Parliamentary officials confirmed the enforcement of the suspension during an Impeachment Committee meeting on 5 August.
The NCC member has been suspended for 20 days with effect from 3 August. So, he’s not on the platform, and he will only be joining the committee once the suspension is done.
The suspension comes amid a busy period for the NCC leader, who is scheduled to appear before the Madlanga Commission on 11 August 2026 regarding leaked Crime Intelligence documents.
