Nicole Poggenpoel-Darries has officially relaunched the Ada Roslind Foundation in 2024, resuming her long-term mission to support vulnerable families across the Cape Flats. Originally established in 2015, the non-profit organisation returned to operation this year following a temporary hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Expanding Support For Education And Crisis Relief
The foundation provides a range of essential services, including feeding drives and the distribution of hygiene relief packs to those in need. Furthermore, the organisation addresses educational disparities by offering tutoring for learners from Grade R through to Grade 12, alongside the provision of stationery packs.
Addressing Critical Community Needs
Beyond its educational projects, the foundation remains committed to social relief efforts by supporting families impacted by environmental crises such as fires and flooding. The organisation also extends its reach to victims of gender-based violence, serving as a vital support structure for community members facing significant hardships. This ongoing initiative highlights the importance of localised non-profit work in closing service delivery gaps and fostering household stability within the Western Cape. The foundation expects to increase its programme capacity throughout the remainder of the year as it reconnects with local schools and community partners.
