Zurel Bros Launches Millwright And Fitting Apprenticeships

Polokwane hopefuls are invited to apply for two trades apprenticeships run by Zurel Bros SA in Polokwane.

Applicants will compete for Millwright and Fitting tracks for 2026, a programme that blends hands on workshop practice with formal trade related training and aims to build practical artisan skills for industrial settings.

Millwright Apprenticeship

Millwright training blends electrical and mechanical disciplines to prepare technicians for plant floor work. Trainees may gain exposure to installing equipment, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, and machinery repairs in industrial environments.

Successful entrants often work with motors, pumps, conveyors and other industrial equipment, gaining cross training in both preventive care and troubleshooting. The programme suits those who want hands on maintenance challenges where mechanical and electrical skills intersect and where problem solving is central to daily tasks.

Fitting Apprenticeship

Fitting training emphasizes mechanical maintenance and the upkeep of industrial machinery. Learners may participate in assembly and disassembly of equipment, fitting components, alignment checks and bearing and shaft work, with practical repair tasks and routine servicing.

Graduates in this stream often pursue roles in manufacturing and mining sectors, where mechanical fitters support plant teams with machinery installation, maintenance, and downtime reduction.
