Fortunate Masilela, 31, and Tsakane Msithani, 38, appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on 21 September 2026 to face charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and possession of a dangerous weapon following the death of Jabulile Ntimba. The victim’s body was discovered in Dawn Park, Boksburg, on 17 September 2026, prompting an investigation by the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit.
A man initially arrested alongside the two women was released without charge after the State determined there was insufficient evidence to place his matter on the court roll at this stage. Investigators allege the killing was motivated by a relationship dispute, claiming Ntimba was involved with the husband of Masilela, who is identified in court documents as the brother of the co-accused, Msithani.
This case is currently documented as the ninth murder involving women in the Ekurhuleni region under investigation by Gauteng police over the past two months. While the series of killings has sparked significant public anxiety across the East Rand regarding the possibility of a serial perpetrator, the South African Police Service (SAPS) maintains that each incident remains the subject of an independent investigation.
