Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said Steenberg police responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 8:00am. Upon arrival, medical personnel declared the two adult males dead at the scene. The adult female injured in the incident was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

“Police members responded to a complaint of a shooting, and upon arrival on the scene they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies,” Sergeant Twigg said. “The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related.”

The incident was reported independently by three local outlets: Southern Mail stated the shooting occurred shortly after 8:00am, while Daily Voice and Smile 90.4FM noted the event happened around 8:20am. There are currently no verified details linking the shooting to a drive-by incident or any specifics about the woman’s injuries beyond what police have disclosed.

Residents and authorities remain on alert as police pursue leads. Sergeant Twigg emphasised that the investigation is underway, with no arrests yet.
