Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in finding 15-year-old Afnen Alas, who has been reported missing from her home in Grabouw. The teenager was last seen by her mother on 13 November 2024, with her disappearance reported nearly two weeks later.
Afnen Alas was last seen on Skuin Street, Grabouw by her mother, according to police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana. In a statement, Manyana provided further details regarding the case:
“Caledon Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is seeking the assistance of the public to help locate missing 15-year-old Afnen Alas who was last seen by her mother Skuin Street, Grabouw on Wednesday 13 November 2024.
The teenager was officially reported as missing on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, after her family had not heard from her for nearly two weeks.
At the time of her disappearance, Afnen was dressed in a red short-sleeve dress with brown flowers, paired with brown sandals, according to information shared by the police. Authorities are urging anyone who might have seen her or has any knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward.
The police have emphasized the importance of community involvement in locating the missing teenager. Manyana added:
“We appeal to anyone who may have information that may lead to the safe return of Afnen to please contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Ruwayda Du Toit on 082 334 9163, alternatively Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
