Cape Town is set to host the Global Entrepreneurship Congress Africa (GEC+Africa) at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on 16–17 September 2026. The major pan-African gathering expects to welcome over 2,000 delegates representing more than 43 countries under the official theme, “Connecting Africa.”
Building On Continental Economic Growth
Organised by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Africa, the congress aims to serve as a critical platform for innovators, policymakers, and business leaders. The event intends to foster cross-border collaboration, market access, and digital transformation across the continent to bolster long-term economic stability.
GEC+Africa remains a platform for entrepreneurs and ecosystem leaders committed to shaping Africa’s economic future.
Strategic Regional Momentum
Cape Town’s selection follows the city’s successful hosting of the inaugural GEC+Africa event in March 2024. To build momentum ahead of the 2026 meeting, organisers have conducted various “Road to GEC+Africa” bootcamps and pitch competitions in nations including Botswana, Nigeria, Egypt, and Kenya. These initiatives form part of a broader strategy to connect regional startup ecosystems before industry leaders converge in the Western Cape.
Further details regarding event speakers and registration procedures are expected to be announced by the organisers closer to the 2026 date.
