Eskom has opened 50 internship opportunities for unemployed South African graduates in its Group Capital Division for 2026 to 2027.
The roles split into eight Engineers in Training and 42 Graduates in Training with a 23 September 2026 closing date and placements in Gauteng Mpumalanga Limpopo and Free State.
Engineers In Training
The Engineers in Training programme targets recent engineering graduates seeking practical experience while working toward professional competence and registration. It provides a structured pathway that blends theory with hands on tasks to build core technical skills. Participants gain exposure to real projects within Eskom Group Capital Division and learn safety, quality and governance expectations.
Participants will be embedded within Eskom Group Capital Division in Mpumalanga Limpopo or Gauteng, where they will build core technical skills through a structured development plan. The placements are designed to foster professional growth and provide mentors to guide progress. Successful trainees may pursue professional registration as engineers upon completion of the programme.
Graduates In Training
The Graduates in Training track opens to graduates from a wide range of professional and academic fields. The scheme aims to widen access to experiential learning and to broaden Eskoms talent pipeline. Placements may be available in Gauteng Free State and Mpumalanga.
Applicants must hold a fully completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent such as a BCom BA or BTech or Advanced Diploma. Fields eligible include Built Environment Project Management Finance Accounting Law Public Relations Marketing Information Systems and related disciplines. The programme emphasizes practical workplace development within Eskoms Group Capital Division.
