Angola’s Ministry of Health reported a total of 107 active Mpox cases nationwide on 23 September 2026. That day saw 19 new infections: 5 each in Moxico Leste and Luanda, 3 in Cabinda, 2 in Moxico, and one case each in Huambo, Icolo e Bengo, Namibe, and Uíge. Alongside the new cases, four recoveries were recorded in 24 hours, including three in Moxico Leste and one in Cabinda, with no new deaths.
The Mpox outbreak continues to affect 11 of Angola’s 21 provinces. CABINDA and Moxico Leste are consistently cited among the worst affected regions. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Health confirmed 442 Mpox cases and two deaths nationally since 2024.
