Prospective students can now apply online to study at Unisa for 2027.
The process covers undergraduate programmes through to doctoral qualifications with deadlines and document requirements.

Application windows are arranged by level, with undergrad routes opening in August and closing in October 2026.
Undergraduate qualifications run from 17 August 2026 to 9 October 2026 while honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas share this timeline.
Who Must Apply To Unisa For 2027
The requirement applies to new applicants as well as current students seeking a change of qualification or specialisation and to those who were previously offered space but did not register.
Additionally, anyone starting a new qualification during the 2027 cycle must submit an application within the prescribed period.
How To Apply At Unisa For 2027
The online process begins with selecting a qualification and confirming entry requirements such as the Admission Point Score and any subject prerequisites, with undergraduate applicants able to list up to three options.
Prepare documents ahead of time and ensure each file is uploaded separately in the correct format, keeping files under 2MB, and following the on screen instructions to complete the application and submit the necessary documents by the deadline.
Fees And Payment And Outcomes
The application fee is R160 for first time applicants and the payment is non refundable even if you choose not to study at Unisa or fail to meet admission requirements.
Applicants who have paid the fee previously are not required to pay again and payment must be completed before the closing date while documents are uploaded to support the application.
Offers And Acceptance Process
When an offer is made, you must accept or decline within 10 working days to keep the space, otherwise the offer will be withdrawn.
First year requirements include completing a MOOC before you can accept an offer, and if more than one offer is received you may only accept one of them.
