Ayanda Allie Joins ActionSA After BOSA Membership Termination

Former Build One South Africa (BOSA) member Ayanda Allie has officially joined ActionSA, stepping into the role of 2026 Election Campaign Ambassador for Issue Driving in Gauteng. Her appointment was formally announced on 31 July 2026, marking a significant shift in the province’s political landscape ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

Disciplinary Process And Membership Termination

Allie’s move follows her recent expulsion from BOSA, where she served as the party’s sole representative in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. BOSA confirmed the termination of her membership on 23 July 2026, following internal disciplinary proceedings that originated from disputes regarding party financial contributions, often referred to as tithes or levies.

I respect the decision of the party, and it is well with my soul. Bye, bhuti.

While an independent disciplinary chairperson had reportedly recommended a final written warning, the BOSA board chose to overrule this advice and proceed with expulsion. The specifics of the internal conflict, including allegations regarding a lack of operational support for constituency work, remain a point of discussion among party insiders as details of the confidential process are limited.

Strategic Alignment With ActionSA

Herman Mashaba, leader of ActionSA, indicated that Allie’s addition is a strategic component of the party’s broader efforts to expand its influence in Gauteng. Speaking on the appointment, Mashaba noted that the electoral road ahead has entered a critical new phase, with Allie expected to focus on issue-driven campaigning.

I’ve always felt I was an extension of ActionSA at the legislature.

Allie, who previously worked as a journalist for eNCA, SABC, and 702, as well as a spokesperson for the Department of Transport, brings significant communications experience to her new role. She is expected to begin her duties immediately as ActionSA prepares its machinery for the 2026 municipal contests.
